The Best “Best of/Worst of” Lists of 2007
By Jeff Lyons on Dec 21, 2007 in Daily Distractions, Lists
Since everyone with web access is writing a year-end list, I am not required to do so. But, I am nice enough to pull together some of the best “best of/worst of” lists I have perused of late.
Like I said, I don’t have a list, but I must mention: “Spider-man 3″ was a lifeless pile of mailed-in shit and a great argument for no more sequels of sequels, except for “The Bourne Ultimatum,” which ruled. “30 Rock” makes me want to hug my TV, the city of Philly still loves guns and still hates snitchin’, I still don’t support the writers and lastly, everyone relax, Feist and The Arcade Fire put out decent CDs, not great. Please wait a bit before you put them on the ballot for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. For something a bit more refreshing, check out these less-heard 2007 releases from Ted Leo, Maritime and Sundowner instead. Lastly, my song of the year: “Trying to Pull Myself Away.”
